Specialist, Warehouse Operations Experienced

Summary
CHS has an exciting opportunity within our Global Grain and Processing group. We are looking for a Grain Operator in Rochelle, IL to perform tasks and operate equipment associated with the safe, reliable, efficient, and high throughput receipt of feedstock into and shipment of products out of the dry-mill ethanol refinery. You must be analytical and detail oriented, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilities
- Approach every task with safety as the first work consideration. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Identify and mitigate hazards before starting work tasks. Maintain situational awareness to identify and mitigate hazards while performing work tasks.
- Operate equipment for loading and unloading distiller's grains, corn, ethanol, and minor byproducts. This includes operating an end loader, forklift and operate conveyor systems.
- Ensure processes are operating normally, in a safe and compliant manner.
- Regulate or shutdown equipment during emergency situations, as directed by supervisory staff.
- Participate in plant maintenance program by performing routine preventive maintenance tasks as directed and interact with plant maintenance, to facilitate, repair, or replacement of equipment as directed.
- Participate in troubleshooting and process improvement activities.
- Participate in grain quality management by regular clearing of storage bins/silos.
- Perform grain grading and train to help provide coverage for the Scale House.
- Play an active role in the plant housekeeping program. Actively participate in safety, health, and environmental programs. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- 1+ years of experience in Processing/or Warehouse Operations
- Must meet minimum age requirement
Additional Qualifications
- Agriculture, grain handling, heavy equipment operation, and/or ethanol industry experience.
- Experience with computerized logistics loading software and computerized conveyor/equipment controls.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift certification
- Ability to perform math related to order counts and inventory management
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Prior warehouse experience preferred
- Pre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position. Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, squat, twist and bend repeatedly
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs and bins
- Ability to lift 55 pounds repeatedly
- Ability to wear all required PPE such as: hard hat, hair net, safety glasses, face mask, and safety boots
- Ablility to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
