Summary
CHS, Inc. is hiring a Product Movement Specialist to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of crude oil to our Laurel, Montana refinery, while maintaining dependable internal reporting on crude positions and market pricing. This role will also provide scheduling support for the McPherson, KS oil refinery, with daily coordination of natural gas, electricity, and NGLs.
This is a hybrid position at our Calgary, AB Canada office.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate crude oil scheduling via pipeline and truck to the Laurel, Montana refinery, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Collaborate with traders, refinery planning and operations teams, suppliers, and pipeline partners to align logistics and manage supply during turnarounds
- Plan and execute shipments using the Allegro system, including monthly pipeline nominations, frequent updates based on production changes, and maintenance of pipeline, scheduling, counterparty, USMCA, and pricing data
- Monitor and report pipeline working stock and inventory levels, and resolve delivery and pricing discrepancies in partnership with accounting
- Compile and distribute internal reports including pipeline inventories, daily deliveries, refinery usage, and comparisons of planned vs. actual crude deliveries
- Maintain and publish the Refinery Supply Daily Position Report, detailing current month crude supply, consumption, and forward projections
- Track and share monthly pipeline toll changes to support planning and economic modeling
- Provide secondary scheduling support for the McPherson refinery, including coordination of NGLs, natural gas, and electricity
- Monitor and report daily NYMEX closes and market index data
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Proactively identify and communicate workplace hazards
- Take corrective action or seek assistance to address unsafe conditions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 4+ years of experience in scheduling, logistics, trading, and/or supply chain
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting and analysis
- Comfortable adapting to evolving software and hardware systems
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Experience with pipeline and truck logistics
- Scheduling and coordination of energy products, including crude oil and related commodities
- Inventory control and position management to support operational efficiency
- Involvement in contract negotiations and supplier coordination
- Demand forecasting and market analysis to support planning decisions
- Familiarity with spot and term crude oil markets and pricing dynamics
