We’re seeking a passionate individual to join us as a Grain Originator Intern in Rochester, MN for 2025. This hands-on internship provides the opportunity to work closely with our customers, delivering exceptional service and valuable grain expertise. Responsibilities
- Gain foundational knowledge of grain origination.
- Understand cash, futures, and basis.
- Give accurate cash grain quotes.
- Answer phone to buy grain from producers.
- Accurately enter contract information into appropriate systems.
- Work with other originators, attending farm calls in office and on farm.
- Shadow grain traders to learn merchandising basics.
- Read and understand monthly USDA reports.
- Gain exposure to grain elevator operations, including scale operations and grain grading.
- Spend time with Agronomy and Energy sales reps to learn other lines of business and sales approach.
- Attend all local sales team meetings.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- Currently enrolled in Ag Business, Crop Science, or other Agriculture related degree program.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software.
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
