Summary
CHS Inc. is seeking an Enterprise Events Specialist to be a key contributor to our enterprise-wide marketing and communications initiatives, as we develop and execute events and meetings for CHS customers, owners, employees and other stakeholders, ranging from large-scale destination events to virtual programs that deliver business insights and company updates.
Collaborating with marketing and communications partners, others throughout CHS and a range of external partners and suppliers, you will help build experiences that deliver on the company’s priorities and strategies and advance our purpose of creating connections to empower agriculture. You will work with the enterprise events manager on event strategy development, planning and execution; venue selection and management; timeline and budget management; and event promotion and registration, consistently delivering a high level of customer service for an exceptional customer experience.
Events include, but are not limited to national, regional and state customer and owner meetings; sponsorship hospitality activation; employee engagement and leadership events; tradeshows; occasional site tours and special events. The enterprise events specialist will help ensure strong internal and external communications with all event stakeholders, will assist in managing and growing partnerships with outside vendors, and will help refine and support best practices and standard processes for exceptional events.
Responsibilities
- Helps develop and executes event strategies aligned with company and business segment goals, delivering events that are on time, on budget, exceed stakeholder goals and expectations and provide a premiere CHS brand experience.
- Manages some or all aspects of in-person, virtual and hybrid events based on needs and circumstances.
- Develops and maintains trusted and collaborative partnerships with and provides extra-mile customer service to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Serves as key participant in searching for and choosing venues, speakers, agencies and suppliers.
- Helps build communication and project plans and timelines/flows to ensure event planning and approvals are progressing on time and as expected.
- Builds and manages registration sites, attendee lists and related communications using event management software (e.g., Cvent).
- Provides excellent and timely customer service to event registrants and attendees (internal and external) monitoring communications channels, answering questions, assisting with registrations and providing general support as needed.
- Creates reports and presentations to guide team actions, inform business and company leaders, and demonstrate results.
- Understands and manages deliverables stipulated by contracts/agreements with external venues, speakers, suppliers and other ancillary services for all events; manages the supplier contract/agreement review and approval process, including tracking progress, filing documents and ensuring details are met.
- Collaborates and partners with marketing and communications and business team members to deliver a consistent and excellent overall brand experience and to help leverage the scope of the company for events delivered through businesses.
- Collaborates with the company strategic sourcing team to maintain beneficial relationships with key travel partners (e.g., airlines, hotels, rental car companies); supports communicating with employees regarding travel updates and company travel policies.
- Identifies opportunities to improve event-related processes and outcomes and supports enterprise events manager in documenting standard procedures and formalizing their use.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in event planning and event management.
- Ability to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, advertising, public relations, communications or related degree preferred.
- Documented experience delivering successful large and small in-person, virtual and hybrid events.
- Experience with projects involving multiple team members and working with key audiences (internal or external).
- Experience building and managing websites in Cvent or an equivalent event management platform.
- Documented experience maintaining team and customer relationships and managing project deliverables and budgets.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences, building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload and work effectively in a high-pressure, high-stakes environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Demonstrated relationship and conflict management skills.
- Cvent experience strongly preferred.
- Robust deliberation and negotiation abilities.

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
