Summary
CHS is thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior Wholesale Field Sales Representative to join our Refined Fuels team. This pivotal role involves building a robust book of business and driving revenue growth by developing market share potential through strategic forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales. The successful candidate will also recommend both new and established products and services to our valued customers. Additionally, the role requires developing and implementing strategies to assist customers in achieving their production goals through measurable results, and analyzing market trends and customer needs to tailor solutions that drive success.
This is a remote/home office position, with the ideal candidate residing in the eastern MN/western WI area.
Responsibilities
- Leverage deep expertise in product offerings to craft innovative sales and marketing strategies, driving sales and margin goals with assigned customers
- Proactively recommend and sell a diverse range of products and services to both existing and prospective customers, ensuring their needs are met
- Collaborate seamlessly with other CHS divisions to harness business relationships, promote best practices, and expand the CHS enterprise
- Build and maintain strong public relations through customer education and the promotion of new products, while actively engaging with prospective customers
- Stay ahead of the curve by monitoring trends and competition, gathering vital marketplace information on pricing, products, and new services; use market intelligence to recommend strategic changes
- Deliver compelling presentations to a variety of audiences and customers, ensuring impactful and memorable experiences
- Engage with patrons in a courteous and professional manner; address customer needs and resolve complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
- Streamline the sales process by scheduling appointments, making initial presentations, and thoroughly understanding customer requirements
- Close sales effectively by building rapport with potential accounts, explaining product and service capabilities, providing price quotes, explaining credit terms, overcoming objections, and preparing contracts for orders obtained
- Keep management informed by submitting detailed reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High school diploma and/or GED
- 4+ years of sales or related experience
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred – A strong educational background to support your expertise
- General knowledge of cooperative systems – Familiarity with cooperative frameworks to drive operational success
- General knowledge of refined fuels or related products – Understanding of industry-specific products to effectively meet customer needs
- Experience with selling concepts, products, and programs to a diverse customer base – Proven ability to adapt and thrive in varied market environments
- Negotiation skills with win-win business solutions – Ability to craft strategic sales approaches that adjust to market conditions and benefit all parties
- Ability to enable strong customer relationships – Demonstrated capability to foster lasting connections that drive loyalty and satisfaction
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record – Ensuring mobility and reliability in fulfilling job responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites – Competence in essential tools to enhance productivity and efficiency
- Pre-employment screening – Based on job requirements and industry guidelines, selected candidates may need to pass screenings including drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical requirements, and FMSCA Clearinghouse
CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
