Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between CHS and customers to provide market analysis, supply/demand reports, economic analysis.
  • Analyze and determine trading strategies to optimize opportunities, volume and profit while controlling risk. Build the trading game plan together with relevant product line managers and implement it.
  • Apply understanding of various commodities, accuracy of trading terms, risk measurement, profit and loss analysis, and futures hedging.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to grow CHS business in a profitable manner, manage risk, reduce cost and determine the best sourcing options. Ensure accurate and on-time information flow on product line and trading team.
  • Coordinate with the buyers, finance, logistics and other regions to insure that the trade execution runs smoothly.  Properly manage company exposure as to commercial position, default risks, logistics and execution risks.
  • Being responsible for daily, monthly, yearly PnL for the relevant product group in terms of reaching target results and running monthly estimates and reconciliations with Finance. 
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Oversee customer service, resolve issues with accounting, transportation, shippers and buyers, and maintain existing customer base.  Manage and develop company's portfolio of customers and contribute to key accounts management.
  • Provide various market and economic analysis, supply/demand reports, price strategy development and guidance, and risk management strategies.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry leaders, strategic community partners, and be involved with industry associations.
  • Take leadership on managing origination representatives in a given region for a dedicated product line.
  • Manage sales budget and expenses, forecast product supply and demand by account.
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and proposals.
  • Supply Chain Management: manage relationships with internal production and customers; assist with issues such as logistics, quality assurance.
  • Perform other responsibities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • University degree, preferably in Economics
  • 5+ years of experience in bulk commodities or related industries
  • Fluent English is a must

Additional Qualifications

  • Understanding of commodity markets and trading principles
  • Ability to adapt to fast changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field
